Anderson (illness) was placed on injured reserve Friday.
The 27-year-old tackle didn't practice all week after missing the Patriots' Week 8 game with an illness, and he's since been placed on IR. Anderson has appeared in five games for New England this season, playing on 45 percent of the team's offensive snaps. He'll now be forced to miss the Patriots' next four games, with his earliest possible return being Week 13.

Anderson will sit out his sixth straight game Sunday, this time due to an illness. If Trent Brown (ankle) can't go in Week 8, Anderson's absence would open the door to a potential start for 2022 sixth-rounder Vederian Lowe (ankle).

Patriots' Calvin Anderson: Passes physical
Anderson was activated from New England's active/non-football illness list Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
The 27-year-old is now able to start practicing immediately and eligible to return as early as Week 1. Anderson signed with the Patriots after spending three years with Denver, where he appeared in 41 games and made 12 starts. Expect the Texas product to provide depth to the team's offensive line ahead of the coming season.

Anderson is competing with Andrew Stueber for the backup role behind Trent Brown at left tackle. Thus, a return to health sooner than later will be beneficial for his chances.

Patriots' Calvin Anderson: Signing with Patriots
The Patriots have agreed to a two-year deal with Anderson, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Anderson, who missed time with an ankle injury late last season, is presumably past the issue. The 26-year-old -- who entered the league as an UDFA with the Patriots in 2019 -- made seven starts with the Broncos in 2022. In his looming return to New England, he offers the benefit of being able to slot in at either left or right tackle.
