  • Kraken's Tye Kartye: Pots lone goal in loss

Kartye scored a goal on four shots and added three hits in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Devils. Kartye tallied at 7:12 of the second period to tie the game at 1-1, but the Devils took the lead back less than two minutes later. With four points over his last six games -- all losses for the Kraken -- Kartye has been one of the team's few steady forwards lately. They've scored a total of 10 goals in that span. Kartye is up to five tallies, four assists, 53 shots on net, 53 hits and 25 PIM across 26 outings as a burgeoning power forward.

  • Kraken's Tye Kartye: Bags apple Thursday

Kartye notched an assist, three shots on goal and two PIM in Thursday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Maple Leafs. Kartye has two goals and an assist during his three-game point streak. The 22-year-old is seeing a more significant role due to Jaden Schwartz (lower body) and Brandon Tanev (lower body) joining Andre Burakovsky (upper body) among the Kraken's injured players. Kartye has eight points, 47 shots, 40 hits, 25 PIM and an even plus-minus rating through 23 outings this season. He should continue to play regularly as long as the Kraken are missing any regulars up front.

Kartye scored a goal in Tuesday's 4-3 road loss against the Blackhawks. Kartye finished with a plus-1 rating, four shots on goal, a blocked shot and a hit in 14:11 of ice time. The 22-year-old winger has scored goals in back-to-back games after going 14 contests without lighting the lamp. It's the first time in his NHL career that he has buried a goal in consecutive games. He'll look to make it three contests in a row with a marker as the road trip continues Thursday against the Maple Leafs.

The rookie forward has had a noticeable impact with the Kraken early in the year, earning a top-line spot alongside Matty Beniers and Jordan Eberle. • Kraken's Tye Kartye: Makes roster

Kartye made the Kraken's roster after their last round of cuts Saturday, Kraken radio announcer Mike Benton reports. Kartye will presumably open the season as the Kraken's 13th forward after outlasting Shane Wright in camp. Kartye had an impressive turn with the team in the playoffs last year, recording five points in 10 games after replacing an injured Jared McCann in the lineup, and the 22-year-old forward was able to carry that momentum over into the preseason. Opportunities may be limited for Kartye at first, and most of his minutes will likely come in a bottom-six role.

He racked up three goals, two assists, 44 hits and a plus-6 rating while playing on a line with Jordan Eberle and Matty Beniers. That level of production will likely earn Kartye a long look during training camp in the fall as he fights to break camp with the Kraken in 2023-24.

He's at three goals, two assists, 11 shots on net, 40 hits and a plus-6 rating through nine playoff outings.

Kartye notched an assist, two shots on goal and eight hits in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Stars in Game 5. Kartye has shown some skill on offense with four points through eight playoff outings. He hasn't shied away from the physicality of postseason hockey either, racking up 36 hits to go with nine shots on net and a plus-5 rating. He's still seeing fairly sheltered minutes, but he looks like he could have a strong chance of making the Kraken's 2023-24 roster out of training camp after an AHL Rookie of the Year campaign.
