The member recounted meeting with Benjamin at a gas station the day before his death, noting that the Apostle was in casual attire and expressed his intention of returning home. On the day of the incident, church members were concerned when he did not show up for worship, prompting attempts to contact him that were unsuccessful.

Neighbors reported that Benjamin was last seen drawing water from his apartment and conversing on the phone around 9:00 AM that day. By late afternoon, a call informed the church member of the Apostle’s death, revealing he had been attacked in his home. Reports indicated he suffered injuries attributed to being dragged inside and struck with a wooden object after being strangled.

Following this tragic incident, police officials conducted a visit to the residence to retrieve the body. The deceased was interred in his home country of Benin Republic the previous weekend. His wife has since moved to her family residence for safety, given the circumstances surrounding his death, while efforts to contact Kwara State Police spokesperson SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi went unanswered.
