In the 2024-2025 dengue season in Argentina, 28,815 suspected cases were reported, with 467 confirmed and a high percentage without travel history. The majority of cases were associated with serotypes DEN-1 and DEN-2, while DEN-3 was detected without travel history, signaling local transmission. Four cases linked to organ transplants were also confirmed.

During the 2024-2025 dengue season in Argentina, spanning Epi week 31 of 2024 to Epi week 5 of 2025, the National Health Surveillance System reported a total of 28,815 suspected dengue cases, with 467 confirmed cases. This season highlights the need for enhanced surveillance and preventive measures against dengue in light of high case numbers and varied serotype prevalence, especially with local transmission of DEN-3 now confirmed.

The 2024-2025 dengue season in Argentina revealed significant case numbers, with a majority of instances occurring without travel exposure, indicating potential local transmission of the virus. The emergence of the DEN-3 serotype in the area underlines the importance of ongoing monitoring and response efforts to control the dengue outbreaks effectively. Overall, the strong predominance of DEN-1 and notable cases linked to organ transplants raises public health concerns that necessitate immediate attention.
