North Korea denounced Trump’s Gaza takeover proposal as theft, criticizing the U.S. for undermining Palestinian hopes for safety. The KCNA claimed the proposal reflects U.S. anachronistic ambitions and warned against encroaching on other nations’ dignity. North Korea, which often opposes Western narratives, condemned Israel as responsible for the violence in Gaza and called the U.S. complicit.

North Korea’s state media criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent proposal to take over Gaza and relocate Palestinians, characterizing it as mere bluster and an act of robbery. The commentary from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) highlighted that such proposals are damaging to Palestinians’ hopes for safety and peace. It stated, “The world is now boiling like a porridge pot over the U.S.’ bombshell declaration.”

The KCNA rebuked Trump’s suggestion to transform Gaza into a lavish destination dubbed the “Riviera of the Middle East.” Furthermore, the report condemned the Trump administration for its other controversial proposals, such as taking over the Panama Canal and Greenland, and the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America. The KCNA urged the U.S. to cease its actions which undermine the dignity and sovereignty of nations, labeling it a “ferocious robber.”

During his first term, Trump engaged in unprecedented summits with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, establishing a personal rapport that he frequently highlighted. Despite an apparent openness to renew communication with Kim, North Korean media has been largely silent on Trump’s second term while criticizing what it perceives as a significant security threat from the U.S. and its allies.

North Korea has expressed its views on international issues contrary to Western perspectives and intensified its rhetoric towards the situation in Gaza. It has placed the blame for the ongoing violence on Israel, denouncing the United States as complicit in the conflict.
