Mazda Motor Corporation, in collaboration with Mazda Sales (Thailand), recently announced plans to enhance Auto Alliance (Thailand) Co., Ltd., its manufacturing base in Thailand. The company is investing 5 billion Thai baht to create a production system capable of annually producing 100,000 units of new compact SUVs. This move capitalizes on the existing local supply chain and positions the plant as an export hub targeting Japan and the ASEAN market, which is projected to see steady growth.
From 2025 to 2027, Mazda intends to introduce five new models in Thailand, including two battery electric vehicles (EVs), a plug-in hybrid, and two hybrid vehicles. This expansion is aligned with the country’s ongoing shift towards electrification, allowing Mazda to broaden its electric vehicle offerings and attract a larger consumer base.
One notable model is the ‘Mazda6e,’ a new battery-electric vehicle produced through a joint venture with Changan Automobile in China. The launch for the Thai market is scheduled for 2025. The ‘Mazda6e’ showcases Mazda’s commitment to design and driving experience, integrating advanced electrification and smart-cabin features. This vehicle will be available in China, Europe, and Thailand.
