Rawalpindi Police Foil Kidnapping Attempt, Recover Afghan Nationals

Three suspected kidnappers were arrested by Rawalpindi police, leading to the recovery of three Afghan nationals, including a woman and her two sons, within 24 hours of their abduction. The suspects had lured them from Afghanistan under false visa promises. The police utilized surveillance footage and intelligence to apprehend the suspects quickly, ensuring they face significant legal consequences.
Rawalpindi police conducted an operation on Wednesday, apprehending three suspected kidnappers and successfully recovering three Afghan nationals, which included a woman and her two sons. The operation took place within 24 hours of the family’s abduction by Saddar Wah Police, according to a spokesperson.
The suspects lured the victims from Afghanistan under false pretenses, promising them a visa to a European country. After being informed about the incident, City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani directed an immediate pursuit for the kidnappers to ensure the safe return of the abductees.
To aid in their investigation, special teams were established under the supervision of the Potohar Superintendent of Police. Employing various methods, including CCTV footage analysis and human intelligence gathering, the police managed to trace and capture the suspects during a swift raid.
CPO Hamdani emphasized that the suspects would face significant charges backed by substantial evidence, ensuring they receive appropriate punishment for their actions. This incident underscores ongoing concerns regarding kidnapping and hostage situations involving foreign nationals in the region.
Earlier instances, such as the kidnapping of embassy staff and other foreigners, illustrate the persistent threat of abduction for ransom, highlighting the need for heightened security measures and proactive law enforcement in the area.
