Investigations into the disappearance of Campbell Scott, a British businessman missing in Kenya, took a serious turn when a body was discovered. Scott was last seen on February 16 after attending a conference in Nairobi. His colleagues reported his absence following their inability to contact him. Authorities, including Interpol, launched a search for the missing 58-year-old producer who had been attending a workshop at the JW Marriott Hotel.

Scott checked into the JW Marriott Hotel on February 15 and went for a walk the next day. CCTV reveals Scott in casual attire, appearing relaxed while interacting with hotel staff. After leaving at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, February 16, colleagues expected him back shortly but began worrying when he didn’t return for lunch. His colleague attempted to contact Scott at 6 p.m., but his phone was off, leading him to report Scott missing to hotel management and subsequently to the police.

On February 17, investigators received reports of a body discovered in a green sack around Makueni, Kenya, believed to have been strangled. This gruesome find prompted investigations by local authorities and the UK Embassy. However, there has been no confirmation yet that the body belongs to Campbell Scott, pending identification by his family. The UK Foreign Office has stated: “We are supporting the family of a British man reported missing in Kenya and are in contact with the local authorities.”

The case of Campbell Scott’s disappearance raises significant concerns, as investigators continue their search and as the grim discovery of a body presents a potential lead. Involvement from both local authorities and Interpol underscores the seriousness of the situation. Until the recovered body is identified, his family awaits further news with bated breath, while the investigation proceeds rigorously.
