New CCTV footage has emerged showcasing one of the last known sightings of British businessman Campbell Scott before his tragic death in Kenya. The 58-year-old, a senior director at Fico, was last seen by colleagues shortly after attending a conference at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi on February 16. Local reports indicate that his body was discovered in a sack in Makongo Forest, located approximately 60 miles southeast of Nairobi.
Scott’s recorded movements show him in a blue shirt with the St Andrew’s Cross as he walked through a car park the day before his disappearance. He checked into the JW Marriott Hotel on February 15 and reportedly met a friend at a bar in Westlands on February 16, before taking a taxi to a less affluent area of Nairobi around 7 PM. Authorities suspect he was abducted in this area, likely for financial motives.
His disappearance was reported by colleagues later that evening, prompting a police investigation. On February 22, animal herders found a body in a green sack in the Makongo Forest, which forensic tests later confirmed to be Scott’s. He reportedly bore signs of torture and strangulation, and authorities have arrested two individuals, a taxi driver and a nightclub waiter, in connection with the case.
Fico confirmed the identification of Scott’s body and expressed their sorrow over its loss, highlighting his contributions since joining the company in 2014. A spokesperson stated, “We are devastated by this tragic news. Campbell was a leader in our international Scores business… Our thoughts are with Campbell’s family and friends.” Meanwhile, the Foreign Office indicated that they are providing support to the victim’s family and are in touch with local authorities.
The recent discovery of Campbell Scott’s body in Kenya, along with the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, has triggered widespread shock and grief. The investigation continues as authorities pursue leads regarding his abduction and murder, which they suspect was motivated by financial gain. Further updates are awaited as forensic examinations and police inquiries unfold. Fico acknowledged Scott’s impactful role in the organization and conveyed their condolences to his family and friends, signifying the broader impact of his loss both personally and professionally.
