This unfortunate incident occurred early in the morning on February 26, 2025, around 04:00 hours, as the girls were swept away by strong water currents while returning from morning prayers. The Kalingalinga Police Post was informed later, on February 27, by Ms. Beatrice Kalunga, a resident of Garden Chilulu, who reported the drowning of the two juveniles. The Zambia Police Service has expressed its condolences and urges caution during adverse weather conditions.
