Iron Lynx utilized the season-opening Qatar 1812 km of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) to test their new Mercedes-AMG machinery. This event was particularly challenging, with both of their new Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 cars experiencing difficulties. The team used the 10-hour race as a practice session since it was Mercedes-AMG’s inaugural appearance in the FIA WEC with their new torque sensors, which had previously only been seen at the IMSA 24 Hours of Daytona.

During the third hour of the race, driver Christian Reid encountered a technical issue that caused the 61 Mercedes-AMG to lose traction and become stuck in a gravel trap. Consequently, the 61 car was forced to retire, while the 60 car also faced issues, requiring extensive repairs that lasted three hours. Iron Lynx team principal Andrea Piccini commented on the challenges faced, acknowledging that despite the setbacks, the team was able to gather valuable data and improve their operations.

Piccini remarked on the collaborative efforts with Mercedes-AMG, mentioning the significant learning opportunity over the 10-day period leading up to the race. The team aims to apply these insights in future races, particularly looking ahead to the next round. Co-driver Maxime Martin reflected on the steep learning curve, noting that although it was a difficult weekend, the testing gathered will greatly benefit their performance.

With the retirement of the 61 car and the 60 finishing without classification due to not meeting the 70% race distance requirement, Iron Lynx is now focused on achieving a more competitive result at the upcoming 6 Hours of Imola. This race holds special significance as it is considered a home event for the team, based in Cesena, near the circuit.
