David Shikfu Parradang, the former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has passed away in a hotel in Abuja. The Nigeria Police Force confirmed his death, which occurred at Joy House Hotel on March 3, 2025. Initially, some reports suggested he was murdered following his visit to a bank, but police clarified these claims were unfounded.

Parradang checked into the hotel with his vehicle, paying N22,000 for one night’s stay. He was last seen around 4 PM when a female visitor left his room. Concerned for his safety, a friend, a military officer, visited him at 4 AM the following day but found him unresponsive in a seated position in his room.

The authorities were alerted, and police secured the scene for investigation. The hotel staff are reportedly cooperating with the police as they collect evidence. The body was transferred to the National Hospital for further procedures. Authorities are also seeking the female guest who visited Parradang.

The FCT Police Command has pledged a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. They emphasized their commitment to uncovering the truth and ensuring justice is achieved. Parradang had a distinguished career with over 30 years at NIS and received the national honour of Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) for his service.
