The search for 20-year-old Sudiksha Konanki, a University of Pittsburgh student, has intensified following her disappearance in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Konanki was last seen walking along the beach at Riu Republica Resort at 4:50 a.m. on Thursday. Her group of friends reported her missing later that day.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia received the case report and is now collaborating with local authorities in the Dominican Republic to locate Konanki. A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office confirmed their involvement, stating, “Our office was contacted Thursday night about a missing Loudoun County woman who was on a trip in the Dominican Republic.”

At the time she vanished, Konanki was wearing a brown bikini, round earrings, a right-leg metal anklet, and various colorful bracelets. She is 5.3 feet tall with black hair and brown eyes, making her description crucial for search efforts.

The University of Pittsburgh is actively supporting Konanki’s family and maintaining communication with them. Jared Stonesifer, a university spokesman, affirmed, “We are in contact with Sudiksha Konanki’s family, as well as Loudoun County authorities, and have offered our full support in their efforts to find her and bring her home safely.”

The Dominican Republic’s Civil Defense initiated search operations on Saturday and continued through Sunday. Local officials are dedicated to resolving this case, as family and friends await updates. Authorities are requesting anyone with information regarding Konanki’s whereabouts to reach out to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
