Greg Chillak from Islip Terrace finds love on “90 Day Fiancé” with Ugandan Joan Kruchov. Their relationship showcases cultural differences and household dynamics while revealing mutual admiration. Chillak dreams of owning a pizza shop in Uganda, underlining their aspirations.

Greg Chillak, a 35-year-old from Islip Terrace, New York, has found love in Uganda while appearing on the TLC reality series “90 Day Fiancé.” The show showcases Americans involved with international partners through K-1 fiancé visas. Chillak’s partner is 27-year-old Joan Kruchov, who debuted in the second episode of the current season on February 23. Chillak proposed to her on her birthday in December 2023, and she has since moved to the U.S., where he resides with his divorced mother, Lucille, leading to some humorous household challenges, particularly regarding differing shower habits and family dynamic.

Chillak expresses deep admiration for Kruchov, whose birth surname is Nansambu. He notes, “One of the things that just made me fall in love with her is how she treats other people.” He describes her as selfless, courteous, and incredibly mindful of others’ feelings. The couple’s love story began after Chillak met Amos Wekesa, the CEO of Great Lakes Safaris, during a flight in 2018. Their friendship led Chillak to Uganda, where he met Kruchov, co-director of the Nakajo Hope for Girls Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering girls and women.

Initially, Chillak hesitated in expressing his feelings towards Kruchov, claiming, “When I first saw her, dude, I just knew I want to marry this woman.” After a year and a half of minimal contact, Kruchov reached out to him through Facebook, reigniting their connection. They found common ground in their Roman Catholic faith and began communicating daily. Despite the challenges posed by Kruchov’s inability to work before obtaining her green card, Chillak aims to move out of his mother’s house and start a life with her.

He also dreams of opening a New York-style pizza shop in Uganda, as he believes there is a notable difference in the pizza quality. Chillak states, “They have pizza and it’s good, don’t get me wrong. But it’s not New York pizza, man!” This ambitious vision aligns with their evolving relationship as they navigate the complexities of long-distance connections, cultural challenges, and aspirations for a shared future.

The relationship between Greg Chillak and Joan Kruchov exemplifies the unique journeys of couples featured in “90 Day Fiancé,” highlighting the blend of cultural backgrounds and the challenges of international romance. Their story is marked by mutual admiration, common faith, and shared goals, despite logistical challenges. Chillak’s dream of establishing a business in Uganda reflects his commitment to building a future with Kruchov as they navigate their love amid life’s complexities.
