MTN Champs Season 3 Set to Showcase Over 2,000 Athletes in Benin

The MTN Champs Season 3, a major track and field event, is set to kick off in Benin with approximately 2,056 athletes participating. Bambo Akani, the Founder and CEO of Making of Champions (MOC), made the announcement during a press conference prior to the three-day competition. MOC, a partner for this event, highlights its mission to discover and nurture young athletic talents through these championships.
Akani pointed out that the inaugural season of the MTN Champs in Benin successfully identified raw talents, some of whom currently hold full athletic scholarships in the United States. He is optimistic that many of the emerging athletes will excel and bring recognition to Nigeria on both local and international platforms.
Osaze Ebueku, Senior Manager of Sponsorship and Go-To-Market at MTN, echoed the company’s commitment to finding and developing young athletes. He characterized these athletes as rough diamonds being polished into future champions, expressing enthusiasm about scouting for exceptional talents in Benin.
Amadin Enabulele, Chairman of the Edo Sports Commission, reaffirmed the government’s support for grassroots sports development. He stated that Governor Monday Okpebholo had authorized the use of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium and arranged additional logistics to ensure the event’s success and impact in Edo State.
