Additionally, rookie driver Sami Pajari is part of the team driving a GR Yaris Rally1.

Evans noted, “The Safari is a unique rally with a special set of conditions to face. It’s not easy even if it’s dry… we want to aim as high as possible and challenge for the win if it’s possible.” This highlights the unpredictability of the rally, especially with potential inclement weather.

This year will also see the introduction of Hankook’s new Dynapro R213 gravel tyre, which will be tested under extreme rally conditions. Defending champion Thierry Neuville aims for a strategic approach, using older Hyundai i20 N Rally1 cars for better reliability. “Taking care of the car and staying away from trouble will be key to that,” Neuville remarked, underscoring the importance of careful driving.

M-Sport Ford will contest the rally with three Puma Rally1 vehicles, led by Grégoire Munster and Josh McErlean. The rally officially commences in Nairobi, with 21 challenging special stages planned around Lakes Naivasha and Elmenteita.
