Known for revolutionizing motorsport, Jordan managed notable drivers and established the Jordan Grand Prix team, which achieved four victories before being sold in 2005. Eddie Jordan, the former Formula 1 team owner and media personality, has passed away at the age of 76, as confirmed by a family statement to the PA news agency. He had been receiving treatment for aggressive cancer affecting his bladder, prostate, and spine. Jordan died peacefully in Cape Town, surrounded by family, early Thursday morning.

The family expressed their sorrow, saying, “EJ brought an abundance of charisma, energy, and Irish charm everywhere he went. We all have a huge hole missing without his presence.” He will be remembered fondly, leaving behind numerous cherished memories.

Jordan began his career in motorsport by operating a racing team in lower-level series, moving to Formula 1 in 1991. He notably gave seven-time champion Michael Schumacher his first race that year. Over the years, he also managed notable drivers like Damon Hill, Rubens Barrichello, and Heinz-Harald Frentzen.

Jordan Grand Prix secured four race victories before he sold the team in 2005. The team underwent several ownership changes and currently competes as Aston Martin. Additionally, Jordan managed renowned car designer Adrian Newey when he transitioned from Red Bull to Aston Martin last year.

Eddie Jordan’s passing marks a significant loss in the world of motorsport.
