Mahama stated, “I’ll take time off and watch the game myself… And my hope is that you would justify my sitting and watching you guys.”

He reassured the team and the management committee by expressing, “the whole of Ghana is going to be behind you, and I’m sure that you can, you can make it.” This event marks a significant occasion as it will be the first instance of an incumbent president attending a Black Stars match at Accra Sports Stadium in recent years.

Currently, the Black Stars are in third place in Group I, with nine points, aiming to secure victory against Chad and Madagascar, who they face on March 24 in Morocco. Mahama emphasized his intention to work closely with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to enhance support for the Black Stars and other junior teams.
