Two men, Robert Cudjoe and Isaac Aidoo, were sentenced to three months each for stealing GH¢17,500 worth of faulty car parts in Bogoso. They were apprehended after attempting to transport the stolen goods with the help of a tricycle rider. A third accomplice, Emma, remains at large, while police investigations continue.

The Tarkwa District Court sentenced two men, Robert Cudjoe and Isaac Aidoo, to three months imprisonment each with hard labor for conspiracy and theft of faulty car parts worth GH¢17,500 at Bogoso junction. The defendants, aged 18 and 19, admitted guilt to both charges before Mr. Charles Owusu Nsiah, the presiding judge.

Police Sergeant Enoch Assan-Donkoh revealed that the complainant, Christopher Dorglo, an auto mechanic, stored faulty vehicle parts, including gearboxes and batteries, at his workshop. On October 25, 2024, Cudjoe, Aidoo, and an accomplice named Emma, who remains at large, executed their plan to steal parts and transport them for sale.

During their operation, the trio successfully took various car components and concealed them at Bogoso junction. They engaged a tricycle rider, Paul Balungo, to help transport the stolen items. However, they were interrupted by a witness, Eric Wilson, leading to Aidoo and Emma fleeing the scene, while Cudjoe and Balungo were apprehended.

Upon discovery of the theft, Dorglo identified the stolen items as his own, prompting the police to investigate further. Aidoo confessed to his involvement and implicated Cudjoe and Emma as co-conspirators. Law enforcement is actively pursuing Emma to ensure she faces the legal consequences of her actions.

The case illustrates the consequences of criminal conspiracy and theft, emphasizing law enforcement’s efforts to apprehend all involved parties.
