Danico, a Paris-based bar, has unveiled the latest iteration of its Xplorer series, focusing on Peruvian culture and heritage. The Xplorer series, initiated in 2023, introduces a new menu every six months, showcasing cocktails inspired by various global regions, including Japan, mirroring the travels of its owner, Nico de Soto.

Nico de Soto, who first explored Peru in 2007, drew creative inspiration from its diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage. The menu beautifully narrates Peru’s unique blend of indigenous customs, colonial influences, and contemporary tastes, highlighting native ingredients through an array of innovative cocktails.

De Soto collaborated with bar manager Coco Gaudin to develop twelve unique cocktails. Notable examples include Titicaca, featuring Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac, pumpkin seeds, and grilled sweet potato milk, and Chicha Morada, which incorporates Grey Goose Vodka and rectified apple juice into the traditional Peruvian beverage.

Other cocktails include Leche de Tigre, combining Citadelle Gin with ceviche distillate, coconut oil, and lime, alongside Tupánanchiskama. This drink features tonka-infused Bacardí 8 rum among various other ingredients, and its name translates to “see you soon” in Quechua, reflecting the cultural depth embedded in each creation. Additionally, de Soto recently launched his pandan liqueur, Kota, in the United States.

The fifth edition of Danico’s Xplorer series celebrates Peru through a carefully curated cocktail menu.
