Key Findings in Meerut Murder Case Involving Black Magic and Finances

Meerut police have arrested Muskaan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla for the murder of Saurabh Rajput, his body was found dismembered in a drum. Investigations have uncovered a tumultuous relationship, financial issues, and a history of an extramarital affair. Speculation about black magic has arisen, but no evidence supports this. Police confirm they are validating financial claims made by Muskaan and gathering more evidence for prosecution.
The Meerut police in Uttar Pradesh have uncovered details regarding the gruesome murder of Saurabh Rajput, a former Merchant Navy officer. His body, dismembered into 15 pieces, was discovered inside a cement-sealed drum on March 4, following his return from abroad to celebrate his daughter’s birthday. His wife, Muskaan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla, were arrested in connection with the crime.
Superintendent of Police Ayush Vikram Singh stated that both suspects confessed to the murder and described how they concealed the body in a drum before fleeing to Himachal Pradesh. Upon their return two days later, they were taken into custody. The murder weapon has since been recovered, while investigations into the motive continue.
Muskaan and Saurabh married for love in 2016, but their relationship soured when Saurabh discovered her adulterous affair with Sahil in 2021. This extramarital relationship, coupled with financial issues and substance abuse, allegedly contributed to the tension leading up to the murder. Despite filing for divorce, Saurabh’s family persuaded him to remain with Muskaan.
The investigation revealed that the couple had attempted to murder Saurabh on February 25, before succeeding in their plans on March 3. Police are actively gathering evidence, including identifying where they acquired the drum and materials related to the crime, and verifying the suspect’s claims about their financial motivations.
There was speculation about a potential black magic element to the crime, but authorities have found no evidence to support this theory, deeming it a calculated murder. The investigation will assess why they chose such a method for body disposal and whether they intended to discard the drum itself.
Concerns have also arisen regarding financial motives. Muskaan mentioned that Saurabh had transferred significant sums to her and his mother’s accounts shortly before his death, and authorities are validating her statements. Furthermore, ongoing inquiries into Saurabh’s employment details and allegations of financial manipulation by his in-laws are underway.
The murder case came to public attention when laborers attempted to vacate the apartment they rented. Suspicions grew after Muakaan claimed the drum contained junk, subsequently prompting a police investigation when a foul odor was detected. Ultimately, Muskaan’s admission to her mother led to her being reported to law enforcement.
Overall, the investigation into Saurabh Rajput’s murder reveals a complex web of relationships, financial strains, and potential substance abuse culminating in a calculated crime. The police continue to collect evidence and explore all avenues to ensure justice is served, particularly concerning the financial aspects and the psychological states of the involved individuals.
