Muskaan and Sahil were arrested after it was discovered that they had murdered Saurabh, whose body was dismembered into 15 pieces. The remains were placed in a plastic drum and buried under cement. The police became involved after Saurabh’s family reported his disappearance when they could not reach him by phone, leading to Muskaan’s confession following her parents’ confrontation.

The investigation unveiled a narrative rife with betrayal and addiction, revealing that Muskaan and Sahil were involved in drug use. Originally, the couple considered burying the body parts with mud and planting a sapling to disguise the act, but shifted to using cement due to concerns about odor. They underestimated the drum’s weight, which caused issues when disposal was attempted, resulting in Muskaan eventually confessing their crime to her parents.
