Muskan Rastogi has been accused of murdering her husband, Saurabh Rajput, with her lover, Sahil Shukla. She allegedly used Snapchat to impersonate Sahil’s dead mother, convincing him to partake in the murder plot. The couple was arrested after the victim’s body was discovered dismembered and concealed. This case underscores themes of manipulation and betrayal in familial relationships.
Muskan Rastogi, accused of murdering her husband Saurabh Rajput with the aid of her lover, Sahil Shukla, allegedly used deceptive tactics to convince Sahil that he was communicating with his deceased mother. Through various messages sent via Snapchat, Muskan posed as his mother, claiming she was protecting him and referring to herself in familial terms.
In one communication, Muskan reportedly stated, “Shakti (power) will protect you,” indicating a direct connection to Sahil’s mother. Additionally, she mentioned a “Gudiya” and that she, referring to herself as the ‘bahu’ or daughter-in-law, would ensure their plans succeeded, specifically mentioning that Saurabh was fated to die at her hands.
Muskan utilized three Snapchat accounts to persuade Sahil to participate in the conspiracy. The texts were designed to create a supernatural connection, as she communicated with him in a manner that imitated his late mother. Their plans culminated in the murder of Saurabh Rajput on March 4, shortly after he returned from his job in London with a US shipping company.
The couple was apprehended on March 18 after the authorities discovered Rajput’s body, which had been dismembered and concealed in a drum filled with dust, cement, and water. Reports suggest that Muskan and Sahil lured the victim by administering sedatives mixed in his food before carrying out the gruesome act. Muskan’s relationship with Sahil began in 2020 when Saurabh worked abroad, distancing him from his family. Following the murder, Muskan fled to Shimla with Sahil, leaving her 5-year-old daughter behind with her parents.
The Meerut murder case involving Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla reveals a chilling narrative of manipulation, betrayal, and violence. By convincing Sahil that his deceased mother communicated through her, Muskan orchestrated a plot that led to the brutal murder of her husband, highlighting the dark intersections of psychological manipulation and crime. Their arrest marks a significant turn in a tragic story involving familial betrayal and deceit.
