A man named Mubarak, believed to be mentally unstable, has been arrested by the Niger State Police for the stabbing death of 25-year-old Shamseen Danshehu. The violent incident occurred on Sunday evening in the Kwangila area of Minna, Niger’s capital, where Mubarak allegedly stabbed Danshehu during a fight between the two men.

Following the altercation, Danshehu was immediately taken to Minna General Hospital, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Local residents reported they were unaware of what instigated the fight, although they noted that Mubarak was frequently seen scavenging through garbage in the area.

Police spokesman Wasiu Abiodun confirmed the incident, stating, “The suspect was arrested.” He elaborated on the events by indicating that Mubarak, described as a scavenger who was likely suffering from mental illness, attacked Danshehu with scissors during their confrontation. The police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
