Zelensky Announces Receipt of U.S. Rare Earth Elements Agreement Proposal

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine has officially received a proposal from the United States for an agreement regarding rare earth elements. During a press conference held in Kyiv, Zelensky confirmed that the draft has been delivered and will now undergo examination by relevant experts.
Zelensky indicated his intention to approve a version of the agreement that aligns with Ukraine’s interests. He stated, “If there is a risky situation for us, I will, of course, share it with our people without any reservations.” Additionally, he noted, “Under the agreement, we will not accept debt,” clarifying his stance on financial obligations.
Further, Zelensky addressed a recent agreement made with the United States in Saudi Arabia aimed at establishing a ceasefire with Russia. He emphasized the importance of a monitoring mechanism for the ceasefire, stating that its absence could hinder success.
He mentioned that the U.S. would engage in consultations with Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and some European nations to assess their willingness to carry out monitoring operations, with Turkey being a viable option for Black Sea security monitoring.
Zelensky also responded to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s call for a “temporary administration” in Kyiv, denouncing it as a tactic to prolong the conflict. He asserted that Russia’s military invasion demands Ukraine forsake its Western military ambition, viewing it as interference in its sovereignty.
