Tata has launched its electric vehicle lineup, including Tiago.ev, Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev, in Mauritius. This move marks the first international entry outside the SAARC region for Tata’s EVs. The Punch EV offers dual battery options; the Nexon EV features a 45 kWh battery; and the Tiago EV comes with a 24 kWh battery. All models include strong warranties and complementary home charging solutions, backed by a partnership with Allied Motors.

Tata.ev has officially launched its electric vehicle (EV) lineup in Mauritius, debuting the Tiago.ev, Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev through its collaboration with Allied Motors. This marks an important milestone as Mauritius becomes the first country outside the SAARC region to adopt Tata’s EV portfolio, following their launch in Sri Lanka.

The Tata Punch EV is available in three variants: Smart, Adventure, and Empowered, with additional sub-variants. It offers two battery options: 25 kWh, providing a range of 265 km, and 35 kWh, which offers a range of 365 km. Notably, this model has earned a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP crash tests.

The Tata Nexon EV now features a 45 kWh battery, displacing the older 40 kWh version. It can recharge to 80% within an hour and has a range of 350-375 km. Meanwhile, the updated Tiago EV is a compact hatchback equipped with a 24 kWh battery, yielding a range of 190-210 km.

All cars in this lineup come with substantial warranties: an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty for the battery and motor, and a 7-year or 150,000 km warranty for the vehicle itself. Additionally, customers receive a complimentary 7.2 kW home charging wall box with their purchase.

Yash Khandelwal, the Head of International Business at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd, commented on this expansion, emphasizing its significance and strategic importance due to the Mauritian government’s commitment to sustainable mobility. He remarked, “We are thrilled to introduce our electric vehicle portfolio in Mauritius, marking our first international expansion beyond the SAARC region.”

He further stated, “As a pioneer of the EV revolution in India and a proven success in SAARC markets, TATA.ev is well-positioned to support the country’s transition to electric mobility. Our diverse range of EVs—spanning multiple body styles and battery options—combined with an unmatched ownership experience and the strong partnership of Allied Motors, sets the stage for a transformative shift in Mauritius’ automotive landscape.”

Tata’s expansion into Mauritius with the Tiago EV, Punch EV, and Nexon EV represents a strategic move in the electric mobility market. These vehicles come equipped with various tech features, significant warranties, and competitive ranges. The successful entry aligns with Tata’s vision to support the global transition to electric vehicles, alongside prominent partnerships and government support in Mauritius.
