Killaboi, wanted for the murder of Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe, has been extradited from Qatar after nearly two years on the run. His capture results from international collaboration involving multiple law enforcement agencies. He had previously fled Nigeria and utilized false identities before his arrest and extradition back to Nigeria to face trial.

The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the extradition of Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, known as “Killaboi,” after nearly two years on the run. He faces a murder charge for allegedly killing his girlfriend, Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe, a first-class student from Lead City University, in July 2023. He was taken into custody in Doha, Qatar, on April 19, 2025.

The extradition resulted from collaboration between the Nigeria Police, INTERPOL NCB Abuja, the Federal Ministry of Justice, and Qatari authorities. A petition from the victim’s family, submitted on September 29, 2024, initiated an international investigation into Killaboi’s activities following his escape from Nigeria.

After the crime, Killaboi fled, releasing a misleading video purporting a confession to mislead investigators. Following a wanted notice by Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department on October 13, 2023, an INTERPOL Red Notice was issued for his capture. He was initially arrested in Sierra Leone under a false name but escaped during a prison break.

Killaboi evaded capture by traversing multiple regions, including West Africa, East Asia, and the Middle East, while using various forged identities. He settled in Doha under the alias “Toure Abdoulaye” with a fraudulent Guinean passport until advanced biometric techniques confirmed his identity for arrest in February 2025.

After Qatari authorities conducted his arrest, the Federal Ministry of Justice submitted a formal extradition request, which was approved, allowing Killaboi’s return to Nigeria to face trial. Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commended the cooperation between various agencies in achieving this extradition and assured the public of the Police’s commitment to justice and safety for Nigerians.

Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, also known as Killaboi, has been extradited from Qatar after evading capture for nearly two years. His arrest and subsequent extradition highlight the efficacy of international cooperation in law enforcement. As the case unfolds, the Nigeria Police Force has reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring justice and security for its citizens.
