Musgraves explained that she was trying to get some towels in the rain when she slipped on slick tiles, leading to the injury. “Thankful I didn’t smack my head, but I landed very, very hard on my back left ribcage and I broke rib number six,” she wrote, sharing a picture of her x-ray.

Her situation sounds pretty tough. “This s—t is no joke. I am in a lot of pain and doing ANYTHING is extremely difficult but I’m managing and being well taken care of,” she added. The singer-songwriter, known for hits like “Follow Your Arrow,” seems to be maintaining her spirits despite the pain.

Musgraves unfortunately had to announce the rescheduling of her planned performance for the “Sing for Science” event this Sunday in Nashville. She expressed her disappointment, noting that the injury made flying back impossible. “There is no physical way I can get on a plane and fly back to Nashville,” she stated.

“I am extremely bummed to have to reschedule, as I have been looking forward to this for months, but there is literally no other option. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience,” Musgraves shared with her followers.
