He explained that the truck went missing after the driver made a pit stop at a restaurant, leaving the vehicle momentarily unattended.

According to the police report, the incident occurred on June 21, when the driver parked the Howo truck along the roadside and entered the restaurant, unaware that the vehicle would soon be stolen. Upon realizing it was missing, the driver quickly informed his manager. This led to immediate tracking efforts, eventually locating the truck in the Lambata area of Niger State later the same day, with all 900 bags of cement still intact.
Suspects Confess to their Involvement
After receiving the call from the driver, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Gawu-Babangida Police Division acted swiftly, deploying patrol teams to the reported location. The three suspects arrested were identified as Bashir Isah, 22; Ibrahim Yusuf, 21; and Halidu Mohammed, 28, all hailing from the Gbamita area in Lambata. Mr. Abiodun reported that during questioning, all subjects admitted to their intentions of selling the looted cement to another buyer which is a serious offense.
