Connected Minerals Hits Uranium Milestones in Namibia

- Connected Minerals has conducted a successful maiden drilling program at Etango North-East.
- The drilling program for the Etango North-East project hit economic uranium grades in 14 of the 15 holes drilled.
- Standout intercepts achieved include 5m at 358 ppm uranium oxide from 88m depth.
- Plans for a follow-up Phase 2 drilling campaign at Etango North-East are already underway.
- A maiden RC drilling campaign at the Swakopmund uranium project consisted of 22 holes for 105m.
Exploration Success at Etango North-East Project
Connected Minerals has marked significant achievements in uranium exploration with their recent drilling programs in Namibia, particularly at the Etango North-East project. The maiden drilling campaign was comprehensive, where the company drilled 15 reverse circulation (RC) holes spanning a total of 2,688 meters. This targeted drilling approach focused on high-priority areas previously identified via rock-chip sampling, demonstrating the firm’s strategic planning.
Outstanding Intercepts Boost Project’s Potential
The results from this drilling program are promising, as 14 out of the 15 holes returned economic grades of uranium, bolstering the confidence in the project’s geological potential. Notably, standout results included 5 meters of 358 parts per million (ppm) of uranium oxide from 88 meters down, which featured an impressive 1 meter at 814 ppm. Also worth mentioning are findings of 4 meters at 230 ppm from 47 meters and 3 meters at 312 ppm from 68 meters, reinforcing the optimism surrounding the project’s capabilities. Mineralization is not only strong but remains open at depth and along strike, and plans for a follow-up Phase 2 drilling campaign are in progress.
Drilling Campaign Overview at Swakopmund Project
In addition to their efforts at Etango North-East, Connected Minerals also initiated a maiden RC drilling campaign at the Swakopmund uranium project (EPL 9162). This campaign incorporated 22 RC holes but was significantly shorter at only 105 meters. The targets were selected based on insights gained from a prior geophysics survey, which uncovered various potential paleochannels, including a notable anomaly measuring 600 meters wide. Connected Minerals’ Managing Director Warrick Clent expressed optimism about assessing the results and strategizing next steps at Swakopmund.
In summary, Connected Minerals is making considerable strides in uranium exploration in Namibia, notably at the Etango North-East project, where they have confirmed strong economic uranium grades. The positive results from the drilling programs indicate a promising future for the projects, and the company plans to proceed with further drilling campaigns to explore the full potential of these sites. Meanwhile, updates regarding the findings at Swakopmund are anticipated as they continue their exploration efforts in the region.
