Nigerian football team, Super Eagles, has begun assembling at their camp in Kigali, Rwanda in preparation for upcoming matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Nigeria will play two matches, starting with a game against Rwanda on Friday in Kigali, then hosting Zimbabwe four days later.
On Sunday, players including star forward Victor Osimhen arrived at camp. Osimhen expressed hope for success, stating they aim to qualify Nigeria for the World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada. Coach Eric Chelle and his coaching staff also arrived and will commence training on Tuesday.
Among the players who arrived at camp on Monday afternoon are Amas Obasogie, Tolu Arokodare, Kayode Bankole, Victor Osimhen, Simon Moses, Bruno Onyemaechi, and Papa Daniel. Nigeria currently ranks fifth, trailing Rwanda by four points. Coach Eric Chelle, now in his third tenure leading the Eagles since November 2023, needs a solid result. Furthermore, Chelle has replaced Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Nathan Tella, who is injured, with Joshua Torunarigha from Gent, Belgium.
The Super Eagles are gearing up for crucial World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
