Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, alias “Killaboi,” was extradited from Qatar to Nigeria to face murder charges for the killing of Miss Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe. His extradition followed a thorough investigation and international cooperation among law enforcement agencies. Nnayereugo had fled Nigeria but was ultimately apprehended and returned to face prosecution.

The Nigeria Police Force has extradited Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, known as “Killaboi,” from Qatar to face murder charges in Nigeria. Nnayereugo had been on the run, accused of killing Miss Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe, a 21-year-old student, on July 13, 2023. His extradition was facilitated by the combined efforts of the Ministry of Justice, INTERPOL Nigeria, and Qatari authorities.

After the murder, Nnayereugo fled the country and attempted to mislead investigators with a video claiming responsibility for the crime. The Nigeria Police declared him wanted on October 13, 2023, subsequently issuing an INTERPOL Red Notice for his arrest. Nnayereugo was arrested in Sierra Leone under a false identity but escaped during a prison break in late November 2023.

He managed to evade law enforcement by moving across various regions, adopting multiple aliases, before settling in Doha, Qatar, in January 2025. Using a fraudulent Guinean passport, he initially secured illegal employment. However, through advanced biometrics and international cooperation, INTERPOL confirmed his identity and he was arrested in February 2025.

Following the arrest, an extradition request was processed and approved by Qatari judicial authorities, leading to Nnayereugo’s return to Nigeria. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, praised the cooperation between nations and assured the public of the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to diligent prosecution and justice.

The successful extradition of Benjamin Best Nnayereugo underscores the importance of international cooperation in law enforcement, particularly in addressing trans-border crimes. With his return to Nigeria, authorities are prepared to ensure he faces justice for the murder of Miss Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe. This case highlights the effectiveness of global collaboration in tracking down fugitives and reinforces the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to safety and justice.
