In a separate incident just days later, he further assaulted her by inserting his finger into her privates. The young girl, distressed, cried out during the attack. Afterward, the man picked her up and placed her on his lap, but she managed to escape and ran home. There, she disclosed her traumatic experience to her mother, who also called for assistance.
The abuse was reported to the police almost immediately, leading to a medical examination which provided clear evidence of the crimes. The medical report was subsequently submitted in court, bolstering the prosecution’s case against the offender. Following this, the Mutare Magistrates’ Court found him guilty and handed down a sentence of 30 years in prison, reflecting the gravity of his criminal actions.
