A Millsboro man, Perry Vance, died in a crash on Hollymount Road near Angola. The accident involved his Nissan Sentra driving off the road, striking two parked commercial trailers. The investigation is ongoing, and the road was closed for several hours following the crash.

A tragic accident near Angola resulted in the death of a Millsboro man, identified as 48-year-old Perry Vance. The collision happened early Thursday morning on May 16. It was reported around 5:52 a.m. on Hollymount Road, just north of the John J. Williams Highway. Authorities say Vance was driving a Nissan Sentra heading south when, for reasons yet to be determined, he veered off the road into the northbound shoulder.

According to police, there were two commercial flatbed trailers parked on the shoulder—these were positioned partly on the grass. Investigators noted that orange reflective traffic cones were placed near the trailers for safety. Unfortunately, Vance’s Sentra struck the first trailer, which then shifted and collided with the second trailer.

Vance was the only occupant of the vehicle and tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Delaware State Police had to close Hollymount Road for around 3.5 hours to conduct an investigation and clear the wreckage. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing, with the Collision Reconstruction Unit from Troop 7 handling the case. Residents in the area are understandably shaken by the incident as details continue to emerge.
