Ghana will experience varied weather today, with thunderstorms in the south and sunny conditions in the north. Coastal cities can expect thunderstorms in the afternoon, while northern regions remain largely sunny. The Meteorological Agency advises caution for both thunderstorms and morning fog for commuters.

Ghana is set to face mixed weather conditions today, June 20, 2025, as per the latest updates from the Ghana Meteorological Agency. The southern regions are gearing up for possible thunderstorms, while areas further north are expected to enjoy predominantly sunny weather, with a chance of isolated rain showers.

In cities along the coast and middle belt, such as Accra, Cape Coast, and Koforidua, residents should prepare for afternoon thunderstorms. This comes after a morning marked by partly cloudy skies. Temperatures are projected to reach about 31°C before dropping to around 26°C later in the day. Early morning mist is anticipated in the hilly and forested parts of these regions.

Conversely, the northern sectors, including Bolgatanga and Wa, will likely bask in sunnier weather, with highs around 34°C. But, it’s worth noting that there’s a chance of late-afternoon thunderstorms in some areas. The Meteorological Agency has urged all residents, particularly in locations vulnerable to thunderstorms, to keep an eye on updates and take appropriate safety measures.

Motorists should also be cautious. Reduced visibility could pose problems in areas affected by morning fog, which might impact commutes. Authorities recommend exercising extra care when driving in these conditions.

Today’s weather across Ghana reflects a blend of conditions, with thunderstorms likely in the south and sunny skies in the north. Residents should remain vigilant, especially in storm-prone areas, and ensure they stay updated on weather developments. Motorists, too, need to be wary of possible fog reducing visibility during morning travel.
