An official delegation from Oman, led by Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), commenced its two-day visit to Algeria on Tuesday. Joining him were key officials including Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, and Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, along with several CEOs from OIA-affiliated companies.
The mission is centered on enhancing economic and investment cooperation between Oman and Algeria. Discussions will involve the prospects for collaboration in these fields, aiming to strengthen existing ties at political, diplomatic, and public levels based on shared economic interests.
Al Murshidi underscored the intention to foster mutual investments focusing on pivotal sectors such as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and food security. He also highlighted potential enhancements in logistics and finance sectors aimed at broadening economic cooperation.

Meetings between Omani and Algerian ministers are underway. Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi engaged with the Algerian Minister of Agriculture to enhance partnerships in food security. They also reviewed the activation of existing memoranda of understanding regarding agricultural and rural development.
Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, during his discussions with his Algerian counterpart, emphasized mutual cooperation in pharmaceutical industries and knowledge exchange.
