Damulak had been abducted from his home in Bwari, Abuja on February 6, 2025, in the early morning hours.

Damulak managed to escape his captors and was discovered wandering near the Pogo-Paiko highway in Minna. The police took him to a nearby hospital for medical checks while they worked on connecting him with his family. Additionally, a separate operation by police at the Maitumbi division led to the interception of a vehicle on February 11 that was carrying suspected stolen livestock.

During this operation, five individuals were apprehended, and the law enforcement team recovered a total of 11 cows and 34 sheep. Investigations are currently ongoing to identify the legitimate owner of these animals, as the authorities continue to address cattle theft in the region.
