Karibbean Lounge Express opened in Hyannis, Massachusetts, on January 24, led by Allanah Bodah. Transitioning from the former Karibbean Lounge, this new take-out restaurant aims to serve a diverse customer base, including Jamaicans, Haitians, Brazilians, and Puerto Ricans. The establishment offers varied meal sizes to accommodate different budgets and serve a high foot traffic area.
On January 24, Karibbean Lounge Express opened in Hyannis, Massachusetts, introduced by Allanah Bodah, a native of Annotto Bay, St Mary. This new venture replaces the former Karibbean Lounge, adapting to a more practical express model. “We are located in a low-income area where foot traffic and traffic are more frequent. We now offer different sized meals, so it’s convenient for all budgets,” Bodah explained.
Karibbean Lounge Express shifts from a dine-in restaurant to a take-out operation, catering primarily to Jamaican customers. However, its diverse menu appeals broadly, attracting patrons from various Caribbean cultures. Bodah noted that Haitians enjoy oxtail, Brazilians favor chicken dishes, and Puerto Ricans consistently order curried goat and patties.
With four years of experience managing the previous establishment, Bodah understands the varied tastes of the local community. She currently leads an exclusively Jamaican staff of five, and they operate six days per week, closing only on Sundays. After three weeks of operation, Bodah reported, “Most definitely, in many different aspects. Our new mission is definitely making sense.”
Karibbean Lounge Express has successfully transitioned from a traditional restaurant to a convenient take-out model, catering to a diverse customer base. Allanah Bodah’s strategic location choice and menu variety have attracted both loyal and new customers. As the establishment gains traction in its new format, it looks forward to continued growth amidst a welcoming community.
