Miata Metals Corp. reports exceptional gold sampling at Sela Creek, Suriname, with a peak result of 194.2 g/t Au from the Puma target. The company is set to commence a 10,000-meter diamond drill program in 2025. Additional notable samples were retrieved from the Golden Hand and Stranger targets, confirming the area’s mineralization potential. Infrastructure improvements are underway to support the forthcoming drilling activities.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 18, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Miata Metals Corp. (CSE: MMET) has released promising exploration results from the Sela Creek Gold Project in Suriname. The company has mobilized a drill rig at Sela Creek to initiate a diamond drilling program with a target of 10,000 meters of drilling in 2025.

Highlights of the exploration include the discovery of high-grade gold samples. A grab sample from the newly opened Puma target yielded results of 194.2 g/t Au. Additional grab samples from the Golden Hand target include results of 14.53 g/t Au, 4.32 g/t Au, and 1.86 g/t Au, while the Stranger target offered results of 34.66 g/t Au and 7.32 g/t Au.

“The first results of 2025 from our ongoing ground exploration program are another milestone for the Company,” stated Dr. Jaap Verbaas, CEO of Miata. The geologists at Sela Creek have utilized geological mapping and sampling techniques to assess mineralized zones, indicating solid mineralization continuity.

At the Puma target, grab samples revealed grades of 194.2 g/t Au and 39.2 g/t Au, aligning with historic channel samples showing 3.12 g/t Au over 8 meters. The geological setting indicates a complex interplay of mineralized vein sets, with both hydrothermal alteration and structural control, emphasizing the potential for further discovery.

Reconnaissance at the Golden Hand zone, which encompasses over a 2km strike length, yielded in situ grab samples with results up to 14.53 g/t Au. Historical sampling in the area has shown consistent gold grades, illustrating the likely presence of significant mineralization. Geological mapping has identified key structural features influencing gold deposition in this area.

First results from the Stranger target included grab samples with grades from 34.66 g/t Au to 7.32 g/t Au, marking it as a high-priority target for drilling. The exploration has revealed geological conditions conducive to gold mineralization with robust deformation features observed in the host rocks.

In total, 52 samples from the Puma, Golden Hand, and Stranger targets were analyzed, showing a maximum of 194.2 g/t Au, an average of 5.3 g/t Au, and a median of 0.056 g/t Au. Investors are reminded that grab samples are selective and provide proof of mineralization presence only.

All drill equipment is in place at Sela Creek, with drilling anticipated to begin soon. The company continues to enhance site infrastructure, including a core logging and cutting facility, to support ongoing exploration and drilling objectives.

QA/QC processes are in place to verify sample results. Samples analyzed at FiLab in Paramaribo uphold strong quality assurance standards, enhancing the integrity of the exploration results. The scientific details disclosed have been reviewed by Dr. Jacob Verbaas, P.Geo., ensuring compliance with National Instrument 43-101 standards.

Miata Metals Corp. has announced significant exploration results from its Sela Creek Gold Project in Suriname, highlighting multiple high-grade gold samples, particularly from the Puma target. The commencement of drilling plans bolsters expectations of further gold discoveries, aided by comprehensive geological assessments and historical data. With ongoing infrastructure development and stringent QA/QC measures, the company is well-positioned for an expansive drilling campaign in 2025.
