A 30-year-old woman, Sadene Green, pleaded guilty in the St Catherine Circuit Court to the murder of 82-year-old Fitz Albert Barnes, a Canadian pensioner, in 2017. Barnes was discovered deceased, wrapped in a tarpaulin, at his residence on Young Street in Spanish Town in May 2017. Investigations by the Spanish Town Criminal Investigations Branch led to Green’s arrest in 2018, with a post-mortem revealing multiple stab wounds and blunt-force trauma as the cause of death. Green is scheduled for sentencing on April 4, 2025.
