A post-mortem exam of Campbell Scott, a UK businessman found dead in Kenya, was inconclusive regarding cause of death. His body, discovered in a forest, showed minor injuries deemed insufficient to result in death. Two suspects are in custody as investigations continue, including toxicology tests to clarify his demise. Scott had been attending a conference when he went missing.

A post-mortem examination of Campbell Scott, a Scottish businessman found dead in Kenya, has proven inconclusive regarding the cause of his death. His body was discovered in a sack of pineapples in a forest approximately 60 miles from Nairobi, days after his disappearance from a hotel on February 17.

Scott, 58, had been restrained with ropes around his extremities, prompting the country’s homicide unit to classify the case as murder. Reports indicate that despite injuries noted on his body, they were deemed “too minor” to be the cause of death.

Kenyan chief pathologist Johansen Odour disclosed that the examination did not yield definitive conclusions. He noted the presence of “head injury and multiple soft tissue injuries…blunt trauma,” while clarifying that these harms seemed insufficient to result in death, leading investigators to conduct further toxicology assessments.

Eyewitness accounts suggest Scott may have visited a nightclub after arriving in Nairobi, where he was last seen with an unidentified individual now considered a suspect. Arrests include a taxi driver and a nightclub waiter who potentially assisted police in locating a suspect’s residence outside Nairobi.

Scott was a senior director at Fico, a credit scoring firm, attending a conference at JW Marriott Hotel when he went missing. Colleagues filed a police report after he failed to meet them for a scheduled presentation. His remains were discovered by a cattle herder in Makongo Forest shortly thereafter.

The investigation into Campbell Scott’s death remains open as authorities continue to analyze samples taken during the post-mortem. With unclear circumstances surrounding his passing, and despite the arrests made, the case raises critical questions about safety and criminal conduct in the region. Further investigation and toxicology results will be key to uncovering the truth behind this tragic incident.
