Rob Rainer, the Liberal candidate, is a former reeve of Tay Valley Township with experience in non-profits, consulting, and as an outdoor education instructor. John MacRae from the NDP is a public servant with a history of seeking political office, while Marlene Spruyt, the Green Party candidate, has a background in family health. David Motton represented the New Blue Party, advocating for conservative policies similar to the Trump administration.
John Jordan’s decisive victory in the Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston riding reaffirms the Conservative Party’s stronghold in the area, maintaining their dominance for over two decades. The election showcased a competitive landscape with various candidates representing a range of political ideologies, yet Jordan’s established presence and previous success supported his significant lead in the polls.
