Jamaican Man Charged with Attempted Murder of Two Florida Cops

On the day of the incident, members of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office Gang Investigations Task Force were executing an operation when confronted by Anglin and Elliot. The officers identified themselves and ordered the men to drop their weapons. Instead of complying, both suspects opened fire, prompting the officers to return fire.

During the exchange, Elliot was injured but managed to escape the scene. He was later located and taken into custody, receiving medical treatment at Broward Health Medical Center. Anglin, who fled, was apprehended by Tampa police two days later, on Valentine’s Day, February 14, and transferred to Broward County Jail.

Both Anglin and Elliot have been charged with two counts of attempted murder of law enforcement officers; fortunately, the officers involved were not harmed. Several firearms were recovered from the crime scene, and the investigation is ongoing, with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement leading the inquiry.
