Volkswagen has launched the Tera compact SUV in Brazil, built on the MQB A0 platform. It features a modern design, advanced technology including ADAS, and is expected to be powered by a 1.0 TSI turbo petrol engine. The Tera’s dimensions are estimated to be around 4 meters in length, with design elements reminiscent of the Skoda Kylaq, particularly in its interior layout.

Volkswagen has officially launched the Tera compact SUV, focusing its marketing efforts on the Brazilian market. Built on the MQB A0 platform, this model is anticipated to potentially serve as the VW equivalent to Skoda’s Kylaq if it is introduced in India.

The Tera showcases a bold design with a slender radiator grille featuring the VW emblem at the center, enhanced by a prominent chrome strip. Its aesthetics are complemented by swept-back headlights integrated with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and an aggressive front bumper that features a large central air intake alongside stylish angular side vents and lower cladding.

In terms of profile, the Tera features pronounced cladding around the wheel arches and the lower sills of the doors. Its design is marked by a tapering roofline, a robust C-pillar, a roof-mounted spoiler, and muscular rear haunches, culminating in a distinct rear profile characterized by robust cladding and a skid plate. The rear end is equipped with eye-catching clear lens LED tail lights, seamlessly connected by black plastic trim.

Inside, the Tera’s cabin design is reminiscent of the Kylaq, boasting a multi-layered dashboard and a prominently mounted infotainment screen. The interior integrates center air conditioning vents beneath the screen while vertically oriented side vents mirror those found in the Kylaq, along with touch-sensitive controls for the air conditioning system.

While specific mechanical specifications have yet to be disclosed, it is anticipated that the Tera will be powered by a 1.0 TSI turbocharged gasoline engine with options for both manual and automatic transmissions. Furthermore, a flex fuel variant is under consideration, and Volkswagen has confirmed that the SUV will be equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).

Details regarding the Tera’s dimensions remain sparse, but estimates suggest a length of approximately four meters. This emerging compact SUV is aimed at attracting consumers looking for a versatile and tech-enhanced vehicle in the Brazilian market.

The Volkswagen Tera has been introduced as an exciting new compact SUV geared towards Brazilian consumers, featuring a modern design and advanced technological integrations including ADAS. With anticipated powertrain options and similarities to the Skoda Kylaq, it has the potential to establish a strong foothold in the competitive compact SUV market.
