The disaster unfolded when a tanker truck transporting Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) lost control on a poorly maintained road. The fuel spilled into a nearby stream where local farmers were tending to their rice fields. Subsequently, the fuel ignited, leading to a massive explosion that devastated the area.

Hussaini noted that the resulting fire destroyed the entire rice field, affecting the vegetation and crops. As of the latest updates, seven individuals have been confirmed dead, and Maimuna Isah, one injured farmer, is currently receiving medical attention at Saho Rami Primary Health Care. The identities of the deceased include:
