His body was laid to rest in Sokoto on February 25, following tributes from his club Vipers SC and local fans.

Mansour Lawal expressed gratitude towards the Nigerian government, Sokoto State, the Vipers Club president, and supporters for their help following his brother’s death. He emphasized the urgency for both governments to collaborate with the Nigerian embassy in seeking justice.

According to a statement from Uganda Police, preliminary reports suggest that Lawal arrived at the mall in his vehicle to meet Tanzanian friend Omary Naima, who had been staying at the mall. After he was left preparing tea in their hotel room, he subsequently fell from the balcony.

The Nigerian Embassy in Uganda has been actively involved since being informed of the incident, with Ambassador Shama Shanga insisting on a comprehensive inquiry. NiDCOM Chairman Dabiri-Erewa stressed the need for transparency in the investigation, expressing concerns over the suspicious nature of the circumstances leading to Lawal’s death.
