Three Foreign Tourists Arrested in Phuket for Assaulting Russian Man

Three foreign tourists were arrested in Phuket for allegedly assaulting a Russian man who intervened to stop their attempt to assault two Finnish women. The suspects are from Germany and Turkey, claiming they were just escorting the women home. The investigation is ongoing at Patong Police Station.

Three foreign tourists were arrested by police in Phuket after allegedly assaulting a 44-year-old Russian man. The incident took place in a hotel located in the Patong subdistrict on Saturday. The victim, Aleksandr Belinskii, sustained facial injuries while intervening in an attempted assault against two Finnish women.

The two Finnish women reported to police that they were in their hotel room when three foreign men entered and attempted to sexually assault them. Belinskii, who was passing by, intervened, leading to the attackers turning on him and subsequently fleeing the scene, as reported by the victims.

The Patong police later identified the suspects as two German nationals, Aksu Cemre Can (30) and Aksu Ali Cem (22), along with a Turkish national, Yanyana Salman (23), who were staying at a nearby hotel. The suspects claimed they intended to escort the women back to their hotel after a night out and asserted that Belinskii, who they thought was the women’s boyfriend, instigated the conflict.

The three suspects were brought to the Patong Police Station to initiate the legal proceedings following the incident.
