Botswana Diamonds Expands Polymetallic Exploration with New Licences

Botswana Diamonds has applied for eleven Prospecting Licences for polymetallic targets identified through an AI exploration program. Covering 7,322 square kilometers, these licenses focus on various minerals including copper, silver, and gold. Chairman John Teeling highlighted the AI program’s role in discovering new mineral opportunities beyond diamonds.
Botswana Diamonds has advanced its exploration efforts by applying for eleven Prospecting Licences aimed at key polymetallic targets identified through a recent Artificial Intelligence (AI) exploration program in Botswana. This program, which initially focused on diamonds, has now broadened to include copper, silver, cobalt, gold, nickel, zinc, and Platinum Group Metals (PGM).
The licenses cover 7,322 square kilometers and focus on five distinct types of mineralization: Besshi deposits (primarily copper), Greenstone deposits (copper-nickel), MVT deposits (lead and zinc), Sedex deposits (lead, zinc, silver), and Ultramafic deposits (platinum group metals).
Chairman John Teeling noted the significance of the AI exploration program, stating that it allowed for the identification of unknown mineral opportunities beyond diamonds. The initial analysis suggested potential targets in various metals, leading to the application for eleven prospecting licenses, all of which have been accepted.
Botswana Diamonds is strategically expanding its exploration portfolio by applying for 11 prospecting licenses targeting various polymetallic deposits. The use of AI technology in identifying mineral opportunities highlights the company’s innovative approach to mining. The focus on a diverse range of minerals positions Botswana Diamonds for potential growth beyond its traditional diamond operations.
