As of March 2, 2025, the cholera outbreak in Angola has resulted in 201 fatalities according to the Ministry of Health. The ministry indicated that there have been a total of 5,574 infections reported since January, with cholera cases identified in 13 of Angola’s provinces. The outbreak began in Luanda, the nation’s capital, which has seen the highest concentration of cases.

Previously, in late February, health authorities reported that 163 people had succumbed to cholera from 4,582 confirmed infections at that time. The rapid increase in deaths highlights the escalating severity of the outbreak, necessitating urgent public health responses to control its spread.
