Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has announced a refund policy for customers who buy petrol at prices exceeding the approved rates at its partner filling stations across Nigeria. Following a recent reduction in its gantry price from N890 to N825 per litre, this initiative aims to ensure that Nigerians benefit from the new pricing.

The price reduction applies to filling stations such as AP (Ardova Plc), Heyden, and MRS. The refinery emphasizes this effort aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to stimulate economic growth by making fuel more affordable for Nigerians.

Customers who have purchased petrol at the old price will receive a refund of N65 per litre effective February 27, 2025. The refinery assures that over 200,000 metric tonnes purchased at N890 per litre will be compensated to avoid losses for its partners.

The company further encouraged all marketers to transfer the benefits of the new pricing to consumers, committing to deliver quality and affordable products. They also condemned any exploitation leading to excessive prices above the approved rates.

According to Dangote, the expected max price for petrol should not exceed N900 per litre nationwide, regardless of location. The revised approved rates set forth include specific prices per region, urging consumers to hold retailers accountable.

Dangote reiterated its commitment to providing high-quality, eco-friendly fuel, aligning with national objectives for energy self-sufficiency. This initiative reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to support the Nigerian economy and promote sustainable energy solutions.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s refund initiative ensures consumers are compensated for any petrol purchased above the newly established rates. This measure, part of a broader strategy to support Nigeria’s economy, aims to prevent price exploitation and promote fair fuel pricing nationwide. The refinery’s commitment to quality and environmental standards reinforces its alignment with national energy goals.
